Placenta Encapsulation
Placenta encapsulation involves dehydrating and grinding the placenta into a fine powder to create capsules.
Benefits of Placenta Encapsulation
Placenta Usage Guidelines
Every person and placenta is unique, and understanding your body is essential in determining the ideal dosage for you. It is recommended to listen to your body and adjust your intake accordingly. Dosage preferences may vary, with some individuals opting for more capsules per day, while others prefer fewer. The suggested dosage is 1-3 capsules, up to three times a day with meals during the initial 1-2 weeks. After this period, you can gradually decrease the dosage to 1 or 2 capsules daily as needed.
Please refrain from taking capsules if you are combating an infection or fever. Once symptoms have subsided, you may resume taking your capsules. It is advisable to consume all capsules within six months of the encapsulation date. Store the capsules in a cool, dry place, but avoid refrigeration.
Capsule Storage Recommendations
Ensure your capsules are stored in a cool, dry, and dark place, such as a pantry or medicine cabinet. Do not store in refrigerator because of increased moisture. If there are remaining capsules after 2-3 months, and you plan to store them for an extended period, relocate them to the back of your freezer. For long term storage, the capsules should be removed from the jar and double zip-top bagged, making sure to remove excess air. The bag of capsules can then be returned to the glass jar and placed in the freezer. Be vigilant for any signs of moisture, as humidity can compromise the capsule integrity and lead to molding. Do not consume capsules with mold.
Taste and Odor Considerations
Similar to various supplements like vitamins and herbal blends, there may be a noticeable odor or taste when consuming the capsules with water. Some individuals have reported a copper taste, potentially attributed to the high iron content. Consuming capsules with a meal or beverage, such as fruit juice, can help alleviate any off-putting taste.
Powder Residue on Capsules
You might observe a powder residue on the capsules when consuming your placenta. This is a normal byproduct of the encapsulation process. If you find it bothersome, you can easily wipe off the residue with a soft cloth, such as a tissue.
Capsule Ingredients
Our capsules are crafted using gelatin, ensuring a quality encapsulation experience. They are vegetarian, non-GMO, dairy-free, wheat-free, gluten-free, and proudly Canadian-made, adhering to good manufacturing practices. We prioritize the use of gelatin capsules to accommodate various dietary preferences and to deliver a product of the highest standard.
Placenta Tincture
A small piece of the placenta is steeped in high-proof alcohol to create a long-lasting tincture.
Tincture Usage Instructions
If you have received a tincture, note that the curing time is six weeks from the drop-off date. Use the tincture as needed during hormonal shifts, the first period, menopause, etc. Administer 10-13 drops directly under the tongue or 5-10 drops in water.
Placenta Prints
Preserve the memory of your placenta’s unique shape and structure with placenta prints, created by pressing the placenta onto high-quality paper using the placenta’s own blood. These prints are often described as resembling "life trees," making them a meaningful keepsake.
Umbilical Cord Keepsake
The umbilical cord can be dried and shaped into a keepsake, such as a heart, spiral, or circle.
Placenta Broth
Collected during the steaming process in the Traditional Method, placenta broth can be:

Placenta Encapsulation
Placenta encapsulation involves dehydrating and grinding the placenta into a fine powder to create capsules.
- Traditional Method: Steamed with optional warming herbs like ginger or lemon before dehydration.
- Raw Start Method: Bypasses steaming and is directly dehydrated, retaining more hormonal content but requiring additional sanitation measures.
- Half and Half Method: A combination of both Traditional and Raw Start methods.
- Capsules are labeled and packaged separately for transparency.
Benefits of Placenta Encapsulation
- Balanced Hormones: The placenta contains naturally occurring hormones that can help balance your hormones during the postpartum period, potentially alleviating symptoms of mood swings and emotional fluctuations.
- Increased Energy Levels: Some clients report feeling more energized after incorporating placenta capsules into their postpartum routine. The nutrient-rich composition of the placenta may contribute to increased vitality and stamina.
- Faster Recovery: The potential benefits of placenta encapsulation include quicker recovery from childbirth, reduced postpartum bleeding, and enhanced uterine healing.
- Mood Support: The placenta is known to contain serotonin and other mood-regulating hormones. Encapsulation may contribute to a more stable mood and a smoother emotional transition during the postpartum period.
